About Us
Butler Junior Tennis Association, Member USTA ________________________________________________________________
History
The Butler Junior Tennis Association (BJTA), originally known as the Butler County Junior Tennis Association (BCJTA), was formed in 1993 by parents seeking to unify and promote the expansion of tennis in the Butler Area. In its inaugural year, BCJTA began running several programs to promote tennis in Butler including a new player summer program, an experienced player summer program, an indoor winter tennis program, and a semi-annual tennis tournament.
Since these early days, the BJTA vision of promoting tennis in the Butler Area has remained steadfast. Our association continues to host a variety of tennis programs for Butler County youth, grades K – 12, including the Bounce, Spring, Summer and Fall Tennis programs.
Organization
BJTA is operated by a Board of volunteers consisting primarily of parents.
Our Spring, Summer and Fall tennis programs are run by BJTA under the direction of an adult head coach, with experienced high school and college tennis team players making up the bulk of our skill instructors. The High School programs are run by the School District Athletic Departments.
